Does the Glass Ceiling Exist
It's fascinating how we perceive behavior differently based on gender. In my experience, if a woman is too confident or direct, she's often labeled as aggressive or difficult. But, if she's too soft or accommodating, she's seen as lacking confidence or as a pushover. This double standard is not about who we are as women but reflects the norms that exist within our environments. If a man is straightforward, no one bats an eye; it's often celebrated, but the same behavior in a woman is often criticized.
The core of the issue isn't that women need to be "fixed." Instead, the environment in which we operate needs to change. It's not about changing our behavior but about changing the acceptable norms. We need to move away from these biased expectations and create spaces where women can lead and communicate in their own way, without fear of being judged unfairly. The problem lies in the current norms and not with women themselves.
